East German illustrated commemorative envelope for the joint USSR-DDR space flight, with Interkosmos and mission emblems. 20pf Soyuz 31 / cosmonaut stamp and Berlin 102 special cancellation dated 18 September 1978, referring to the first German in space. The stamp was issued on 4 September, so this is a commemorative cover rather than an FDC. Unaddressed. Actual item shown front and back; visible creases at the lower edge and lower right, with other ageing and marks as photographed.
