The posted postcard shown in the photograph is for sale. The image depicts a view of Quai Cronstadt in Toulon, with the Le Génie de la Navigation monument and a row of urban buildings in the foreground. The brand or publisher is Ernest Le Deley (E.L.D.). The series is number 65. The route is Toulon–Boulogne-sur-Mer. The stamp is a French 10-centimes République Française Semeuse stamp, depicting the figure of a sowing woman and bearing the inscription “POSTES”; it is red and perforated. The cancellation reads TOULON / VAR; a circular postmark appears on the stamp and on the reverse of the card. Collector verification is required, as this stamp may have a valuable variety; it must be examined separately on the basis of its perforation, watermark, paper, colour and overprint.
