Chambord Castle – Neurdein Frères ND Phot. 2 – Tours–Paris – ND Phot 2 – 25-centime Semeuse stamp
The French circulated postcard shown in the picture is for sale. The depiction shows the northern façade of the Château de Chambord and the château reflected in the water; according to the caption, it reads “CHAMBORD (Loir-et-Cher) — 2 — Château (Nord.).” The brand or publisher is Neurdein Frères. The series is ND Phot – 2. The route is Tours–Paris. The stamp is a French 25-centime red Semeuse stamp depicting the Sower, bearing the inscriptions “REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE” and “POSTES”; it is perforated and has a black postal overprint. The postmark reads TOURS; it is a circular postmark containing a date marking resembling 23 – 10 – 05 and the inscription “INDRE-ET-LOIRE.” Collector verification is required, as a valuable variety of this stamp may exist; it should be examined separately on the basis of its perforation, watermark, paper, colour and overprint.
