The French circulated postcard shown in the image is offered for sale. Depiction: the gateway of the Grande Porterie of the Palais Ducal in Nancy, with a statue of Duc Antoine above it; according to the inscription on the front, the gateway dates from 1512 and the statue from 1851. Route: Nancy–Marseille. Stamp: French Republic, 10 centimes, Semeuse design, with the inscription “Poste”. Postmark: NANCY; 21 XII 03. Collector’s examination is required: a valuable variety of this stamp may exist; it must be examined separately on the basis of its perforation, watermark, paper, colour and overprint.
